Key Rules For RP

The following rule applies to all players on both sides of the Wall, regardless of faction or affiliation.

☠️New Life Rule (NLR)

If your character dies, they forget the events immediately leading up to their death.

Players may not:

  • Immediately return to the same active combat situation.
  • Seek immediate revenge against the player or group responsible for their death.
  • Use knowledge obtained immediately before death to influence the ongoing situation.

Raid NLR: For raids, NLR begins upon a player's second death OR when they use a bed/sleeping-bag spawn to return to the active raid after dying. After the second death NLR is fully active and cannot return to the active-scene or raid.

AI/Natural Causes Deaths: Players may return to their body if they died solely from AI/Natural Causes. AI/Natural Causes death during an active fight vs another player does NOT supersede AI Death exception, death from AI/Natural Causes during active fights vs other players follows normal NLR rules.

❤️Valuing Life / Fear RP

Your character must maintain a realistic sense of self-preservation.

If you are:

  • Held at gunpoint.
  • Significantly outnumbered.
  • Completely outmatched.
  • In a situation where resisting would reasonably result in your death.

You are expected to act accordingly and comply with reasonable demands.

Fear RP does not require a player to blindly follow every demand. Players may resist when doing so is reasonably consistent with the circumstances of the RP.

🎙️Voice-First Policy

In-game voice chat (VoIP) is the primary method of communication for player-to-player RP.

  • Players are expected to use in-game VoIP during active RP.
  • Discord and other third-party communication platforms may not be used to coordinate tactical information during active player engagements.
  • Discord may be used for non-player-to-player interactions, community coordination, and other out-of-character purposes.
  • In-game radios are encouraged and may be used during RP.
  • When using a radio during a raid or active RP situation, players should assume nearby players may be able to hear the conversation.
  • In-game RP should remain in-game whenever possible.

🗣️Mandatory Initiation

Before engaging in hostile actions against another player South of the Wall, you must provide a clear verbal initiation.

This applies to actions including:

  • Robbing.
  • Detaining.
  • Kidnapping.

  • Forcing a player to surrender equipment.
  • Shooting another player.

The initiation must:

  • Be delivered through in-game voice chat.
  • Be directed at the intended player.
  • Clearly communicate your hostile intent or demands.
  • Give the target a reasonable opportunity to respond or comply.

Vehicle Initiation:

  • A player cannot initiate an RP scenario from a moving vehicle, or inside a vehicle. You must come to a stop, exit your vehicle, then issue the command.
  • A player CAN however order a vehicle to come to a stop and order its occupants to get out.
  • Value Life RP applies to not only yourself but comrades as well.

Examples

  • "Put your hands on top of your head. You have thirty seconds to comply or you will be fired upon."
